OH My MY
By Quincy Newton
Sun goes down and leaves you cold oh my my
Winters coming don't you know oh my my
Wind blowing high up in the trees
Creepers and crawlers and killer bees
Don't pay for the loving oh daddy please oh my my
Another way to get me higher my my
Half the city is on fire my my
Half the people they are sheep
Most of them don't make a peep
Gonna sow just what you reap oh my my
Lay down your sword and shield
Lay down
Throw another beer can cross the floor oh my my
Dish it out and ask for more oh my my
Break yourself to break the pain
Mercy comes in fallen rain
Sleep on benches miss the train oh my my
Lay down your sword and shield
Lay down

PLAY THE MUSIC FOR FREE
By Quincy Newton
Paint a picture of the sky at night
Paint a picture ‘cause you’re feeling right
Oh no, nobody mess with me
Turn the speakers up
Play the music for free
When you’re walking you don’t feel no pain
When you’re walking in the gentle rain
Oh no, nobody mess with me
Turn the speakers up
Play the music for free
Who built all these buildings?
Of steel and brick with windows shining brightly in the sun
The sun
Dear mom, I know that you are scared
I know you’re feeling sad
But look inside your heart
And try to find some hope
To carry on
Paint a picture of the sky at night
Paint a picture ‘cause you’re feeling right
Oh no, nobody mess with me.
Turn the speakers up

RONA
By Quincy Newton
Streets were empty, storm came in
A woman passes by with whiskers on her chin
Snow was falling in the month of May
Deadly virus had scared them all away
Concrete was shining bright
She stopped to lay for the night
And she said
I don’t wanna drive in cars
I don’t wanna hang in bars
All I want is to be free
I don’t wanna pay no rent
God damn right all my money’s spent
Please let me be
All the people were locked inside
The city felt the pain it couldn’t hide
The smog had lifted, birds came in
Showed them the meaning of their toils and sin
Now she was the mayor of the town
She told them all to shut it down
And she said
I don’t wanna drive in cars
I don’t wanna hang in bars
All I want is to be free
I don’t wanna hold this knife
I don’t wanna take your life
Please let me be
No more airplanes in the sky

SOMEONE’S UNCLE
By Quincy Newton
I spent all my money, now I got scabies, that’s how it goes
I look in the mirror and see someone’s uncle who tripped on his toes
I wish I was better, wish I was smarter
The days keep on going
And trees keep on growing
We met in the Spring, we drank from the water
Held on to each other, swam in the river
She told me some secrets, I told her I loved her
The birds were singing of love in the making
Sad to think our love won’t last dear
Sad to think our love might die
Autumn comes I’ll miss you madly
Winter comes we say goodbye
I fell into darkness and became a shadow, that’s how it goes
I lost all my purpose and gave up my blessings straight up my nose
I tried to forget her but she’s in my body
The light was forsaken, no love in the making
Feeling old looking in the mirror
Feeling young laying in the sun
Days go by with nothing clearer
Sinners like to have their fun
The old world is endin’
Dimensions are blendin’
The earth starts to shatter
I see it don’t matter

RING AROUND THE MOON
By Quincy Newton
Clouds are hanging in the sky
Moon is coming out
Everything’s okay
At least for today
There’s a ring around the moon tonight
Whisper softly in my ear
Tell me words I long to hear
Like I love you
Now I’m lying close to you
Kisses sweeter than the truth
That we will someday rot away
But not today
Life flash past your eye
Yet to realize
People come and people go
That’s just the way it is
So you better not try to run away from your problems your entire life
‘Cause when your moment comes
Know you’re gonna freak out
Thinking about what you should have been
Or would have been
If you weren’t such a freakin’ dipshit

LET YOU DOWN
By Quincy Newton
Morning sun comes in my room
And it makes me wanna frown
Baby I’ma let you down
You keep looking for me
But I am not around
Baby I’ma let you down
You keep on smiling like you think that it’s a game
But you’re gonna be a’crying when I leave you stranded in the rain
All my friends at work they laugh
Knowing I’m a clown
Baby I’ma let you down
Fool you once, fool you twice
Fool you once more and it won’t be nice
Baby I’ma let you down
You keep on smiling like you think that it’s a game
But you’re gonna be a’crying when I leave you stranded in the rain
All the days are yet to come
But I will tell you now
Baby I’ma let you down
Baby I’ma let you down by Quincy Newton

OUR LOVE WON’T SOON BE GONE AWAY
By Quincy Newton
It’s clear my dear
When you are far away, not near
To me
Your kisses linger in my memory
Our love won’t soon be gone away
For you my love
You know I’d gladly swim the sea for you
It breaks my heart that I can’t be with you
Our love won’t soon be gone away
Wherever you may go just know
I’m feeling you
And in some place and time my love
I’m stealing you
Forever dear
I long to hold you close
And make you smile
For you I’d walk across a million miles
Our love won’t soon be gone away
Wherever you may go just know
I’m feeling you
And in some place and time my love
I’m stealing you
Forever dear I long to hold you close
And make you smile
For you I’d walk across a million miles
Our love won’t soon be gone away

THE CONVERSATION
By Quincy Newton
It’s been a year
Since I held you in my arms dear friend
And every time I think the heartache’s gone
It comes right back again
But these tears keep falling
No matter what I do
‘Cause I never loved anything
The way that I loved you
Take me back to that little ol’ place
When love was new and there’s a smile on your face
Take me back to when love was new
I miss you so much I don’t know what to do
Been losing my mind, most of the time
Can’t seem to find a reason or rhyme
Been yelling at cars and drunk in the bars at night
The conversation with you in my head
Won’t let me go to bed
Kinda feeling like I wish I was dead
All I can say is I’m sorry
And I love you so much
But these tears keep falling
No matter what I do
‘Cause I never loved anything
The way that I loved you
Take me back to that little ol’ place
When love was new and there’s a smile on your face
Take me back to when love was new
I miss you so much I don’t know what to do

FOLLOW THE LIGHT
By Quincy Newton
Follow the light and it might
Shine, shine, shine back on you
Follow the light and it might
Shine, shine, shine back on you
Through the darkest moments of the night
There is a light burning bright and true
Through the darkest moments of the night
There is a light burning bright and true
Inside of me, inside of you
Don’t be afraid to let the light shine through
Don’t be ashamed to let the pain come too
Through the darkest moments of the night
There is a light burning bright and true
Through the darkest moments of the night
There is a light burning bright and true
Inside of me, inside of you
